Angiomas

What Are Angiomas?

Angiomas or “cherry angiomas” are small proliferations of blood vessels that may appear anywhere on the body as bright red or purple dots. Although it is not known what causes these growths, they tend to appear later in life. Rarely are they associated with internal medical diseases. Angiomas are considered benign and do not require treatment, unless they bleed or cause pain. They can be removed surgically or by laser treatment. Angiomas can also be removed for cosmetic purpose, if you dislike their appearance.
